Hi 4Shades, Years ago, I used to be fairly proficient at building dogfight templates. It was essentially the placement of static objects on a map for targets / objectives and making available aircraft types for flying in dogfight modes and adding some scripting. I'm am totally unfamiliar with the mo...

Go into the objects table for SE campaign database. Lookup the tank on the object specifications table and adjust the engagement range to something more appropriate for superior German gunnery skills. Make sure this option is flagged when initialising the SE template. I wouldn't recommend mucking ar...

Task Forces

G'day all, Following recent conversation regarding map front markers and such, have given some thought on this, with a view to improving the simulation of "command and control" for SE ground operations. As it stands, there are various merrits or options on what generates good front markers...

Hi there, As I understand it, IL2 does not keep a record in the mission file of the actual paratroop drop (parachute hitting the ground?) event. In this case, my only sugestion for a "work around" of its inclusion could be to see from the mission file, whether the Ju-52 reached a waypoint,...

G'day from Oz. If we can keep it clean and simple then I think we can get it to fly. I'd like to have clear communications on this, so that we are all moving in the same direction and nobody is unintentional cut out of the loop. We'll also need to have some sort of scedule that is available and comm...

G'day Brandle & coy, I guess we'll organise and initially run between ourselves, at least till we get it up and running. I've put this on the wider forum, mainly to flesh out the sort of campaign we were discussing last night and raise some issues that others may lend different views or have a g...

Hi 4Shades, No doubt we'll chat about this, but are you proposing a series of linked fronts. Eg. for the mentioned 1942 Eastern Front scenario, such as the Crimea, Kuban, Stalingrad, Kiev, Moscow, Leningrad & Murmansk maps. We'd need to setup some sort of international timetable or schedule and ...

High altitude bomber scenarios.

Hi guys, I'd like to tackle the dearth of high altitude combat scenarios. As you'd all be aware, much of the focus is on the low-level tactical battlefield arena. True, nearly all combat on the Eastern Front took place below 5,000 metres, but in the West, it was a much different story. In the skies ...

The objects / units in question are all included in the template when initialised. From the posts, am still unclear about the results of selecting "n" for units in the database. Don't have access to the database anyway. Will postpone this for now and move onto other things.

Resupply / Reinforcement Points

I'm sure this must have come up often enough in regard to the DCS. Is it possible to bring in red reinforcements for the British, consiting of flyable J8A Gladiators. Suspect its a database ammendment thing. They are only shown for blue in the campaign management and not an option for red, regardles...

Industrials, fuel, munitions supply & ambulances.

Hi 4Shades, I'm finishing off that late Spanish Civil War template. (Madrid front - Lvov map, where Lvov = Madrid and Uzgorod = Toledo) Am just after a little clarification on which vehicles are enabled to transport fuel and munitions. Correct me if I'm wrong, but as I understand it, currently all t...

Industrials & other stuff.

Hi there, Just floating some ideas that I have in regard to Industrial and factory production, regarding SE. If they are already in train or have been discussed previously, then please forgive my oversight. Am using an actual example, so please bear with me. Example. In the summer of 1941, State Air...

Ambulance / Rescue Aircraft

I'm in the middle of finalising a convoy campaign / template (series of three linked templates) and am contemplating the use of particular transport aircraft with distinctive red cross markings. Presently when a pilot bails out, there's a particular probability that he will be captured or rescued / ...
