New aircraft takeoff formations and delay

Just a bit of technical info from 4.11.1/HSFX and not an SEOW feature. Just checking out the new takeoff waypoint features and found that aircraft can now takeoff in normal (Straight Line), pairs side by side or line abreast. I hadn't noticed these things till now. You are able set the spacing dista...

Thanks for the clarification Zoi. Some clarification is also required from me. When I see the term Strategy Game I take that as an application that can be played against a computer opponent or at the least an application that has many automated elements as you described earlier. This differs from SE...

I think your correct Ikey as I recall trying to make sure the names were correct when aircraft were returning to sector (after withdrawing to bomb New Guinea) back in June 42 campaign. That was a long time ago now though so it might just be an aging mans false memory.

Hi Zoi, I have read this thread carefully and have a little difficulty in where this thread is meant to be going. It appears to me that that the lack of automated functions in the FMB and SEOW MP, although you understand that they are outside the scope of what the FMB and MP are intended for is an i...

The JG26 Battle of France campaign went for 18 months or so and finished at 345.375 Mb. In Navicat I used this query to get a size in Mb's of all my databases: SELECT table_schema "Data Base Name", sum( data_length + index_length ) / 1024 / 1024 "Data Base Size in MB" FROM inform...

Thanks JP that would be great and save a lot of time. It would be good to keep to your MP style and only make additions/subtractions where there are map differences. Thanks for your MP work update. It has been a long time since I did some MP creation but will be good to get this one into the system ...

Westfront 40 Map

Hi all, is anyone already working on a MP for this? JP? If not I'll start work as I don't want to see a duplication of work going on. A lot of data capture but this is a beatiful map that deserves to come in and really does replace the old France map which is no longer in HSFX 6 and really was just ...

To make this easy to a commander I wondered if it wouldn´t be a nice feature to set these values for available unit in the Mission Planer and let the DCS spit out a technics.ini that could be activated via JSGME?

:!:....................... :D ..........

Ships holding fire

In Iwo Jima I have found the friendly fire from landing craft a problem. In FMB testing the SLEEP function gets ships to hold fire for however long whilst still moving on their merry way if that is what they need to do. Can this feature be added as a function for shipping? SLEEP is just a timer for ...

Just another idea

This has probably already been suggested before but here it is. How about seperating battlefield material from the men that man them. Eg. A tank is just a static tank unless it is manned by men from a specified unit, an artillery piece is static until manned etc. You get the idea. This would allow m...

If it has such a significant effect as to be a detrimental overall to the campaign then limit its use. It only makes it easier as the template designer intends or as historical if that is the aim. Try increasing the screen update delay, reduce the qty of radar, coast watcher, observer installations ...

Yes I might just have to get it too as it looks like it will really be a good battlefield sim where you really can go from foot to tank, truck, artillery, AAA and aircraft in a high quality environment.
Very nice indeed.

Having the new aircraft come in by sea would be good if want carrier activity but I believe the launch point in real events was well of to the west. You could add supply points where ever you like to simulate incoming flight direction and have delays, fuel and loadout limits for when the units in th...
