New DCS in beta!
Hi everyone, It has been a long time in the works, but we now have a beta release of the next iteration of the SEOW DCS application, called SEDCS v8.0. This marks a consolidation of the ground war feature into the DCS, so that it generates missions and analyses logs much faster than before. At the s...

Re: Which version of XAMPP should I download ?
Hello Kopfdorfer, I know SEOW MP runs on PHP 8.1 happily enough, so I would download XAMPP 8.1.25 / PHP 8.1.25. XAMPP also supports MySQL so the SEOW database will work ok too. Cheers, 4S PS: And I am about to release a brand new SEDCS, so once you get XAMPP, MP and SEDB going let me know and I can ...

Re: Creation of Highways - Broken Routes
The way I do it is to start each route either at a road terminus (rare) or at a junction, then end the route at the next junction or terminus. Using the snap feature in FMB helps to put your waypoints onto the 100 m grid, but this can be done in a spreadsheet or sql anyway. Without seeing all your d...

Re: Creation of Highways - Broken Routes
Hmm, curious. Well, anyway, if your routes don't overlap you can always edit the corresponding data in the Highways table and correct any glitches (then re-run the Highway_Intersections SQL query).

Re: Purpose of AAA Airfield_Objects in airbase_layouts?
This is a relic from the early days of airfield layout design. It was originally intended that AA guns would be auto-generated and placed at each airfield, in the same way as runway lights are. However we soon came to see that availability of AA guns should be part of the order of battle like aircra...

Re: Seow and php 7.3
Before you said it reported "Unknown database provider: mysqli". Now you say it reports "Unknown database provider: mysql". So something has changed. Perhaps some time together on TS would help clarify the situation.

Re: Seow and php 7.3
Ah yes, I think the MP now wants to use the "mysqli"extension in PHP. You need to enable that extension in php.ini and restart your web server. Make sure mysqli is loaded before continuing. Then to get the MP connecting to a database there are two independent methods: 1) The recommended wa...

Cross-Browser Support for MP
As of MP v7.3.211, there is explicit cross-browser support. :) For many years the MP has used explicit extensions compatible with Microsoft Internet Explorer, most lately IE11. These extensions made it difficult to use other browsers, although at some times Firefox could be used in "compatibili...

Re: Seow and php 7.3
Hi Thor, Nice to hear from you. I hope you are well. MP: I have recently updated the MP to coexist with PHP8. You need to do an SVN checkout of the SEMP repository at Sourceforge to get a full new MP, just to be sure. DCS: when setting up a new laptop recently I noticed that the DCS will not run und...

Synchronizing Object_Specifications with Meta_IF44_Unit_Definitions
Hi everyone, Ensuring that your IF44 world matches your IL2 world can be annoying, especially if you are tweaking your infantry unit compositions. The following SQL query allows you to make some decisions regarding soldier and supply weights, and then automatically updates Object_Specifications base...
